ABOUT

Folks 'round here call me Lola. In a former life, I spent my days working in fashion styling, glossy magazines, and the book publishing world while living in mega glam cities like New York and Miami. One day I read a book (it was called Skinny Bitch if you must know...geez so nosy you are!) and life as I knew it changed forever. These days, I lead a relatively simple life, but I am slightly (still, just slightly I promise) obsessed with fashion and food and everything related to it. Including, but of course not limited to, eating it. But as much as I love to eat, I am also known for dining daily, vintage shopping while broke, and occasionally knocking old ladies over just to score the latest pretty cookbooks in Barnes & Noble. I of course dabble in photography like the next person, experiment with recipes, and pretend to be the lovechild of Anna Wintour and Martha Stewart though I am not there. Yet.

If anyone is curious, I still have a day job. Its called self-employment (getting dressed up and stuffing my face actually pays rent, who knew!) while I dream of becoming a millionaire off of humble writing so I can retire young, travel endlessly, and indulge in philanthropy. By the way, Jamie Oliver and Sarah Jessica Parker are my heros.

about the blog:
What started in early 2010 as an obsessive documentation on my love of all things French, pretty, and gourmet has transformed slowly and subtly into a blog all about simple, beautiful, wholesome living with lots of personal style thrown in because you can take the girl away from fashion but you can't take fashion out of the girl. When I took interest in what goes on our plate and in our mouths, I found myself sharing more and more recipes that  use local produce, and are free from processed, artificial ingredients. I bake from scratch, and I cook from my heart. From there I wanted to know everything about what we slather on our skin and wear everyday, so my eco-fashion styling was born! Even if you don't want to join me on my own personal journey (because really, who the heck cares about me right!) then I urge you to think before you eat and start a new relationship with food, fashion, and beauty...one where you actually know where it came from before landing on your plate, on your skin, and in your closet.

If you fancy, you can read my weekly column in Best Friends For Frosting each Monday. Follow on Twitter @lilliestyle visit my Facebook page, Pinterest boards or follow this blog on Bloglovin. Of course you can send me good ol fashion mail (my email, not snail mail little stalkers) editor @ lilliemag dot com and I will respond to you in a jiffy.

See you on the other side,
Leti
